Hi Leaders,
In this issue of the Leadership Advantage, I want to talk about those events that wake you up and make you reconsider your path.
For me, it started 5 years ago.
Sometimes your drive to do what is right for "the business" comes first.
You put it before your free time, your leisure time, and your mind is always racing.
Some mornings, more than you want to count, you wake up from sleep and sit STRAIGHT up, with 100 thoughts of what needs to get done zooming through your head.
And, this focus, this burning need to work, begins to edge out your friends, family, and yourself.
If this is occasional, it happens to everyone.
β A late night to meet a deadline.
β A weekend of work for an important customer.
But occasional becomes often. And often becomes a habit.
And, before you realize it, your dream of working to create the business you want to work at, instead, infringes on your lifestyle and defines the bulk of your life.
For me, a brain injury was the reset button for my life.
The injury happened quickly, but the reset on my life happened slowly.
It took me 3 years to rebuild my brain and then restart.
Thankfully, my priorities now are different.
I have streamlined both what I work on and structured my time for deep focus work versus time juggling.
But, the change is deeper than that.
My legacy and my definition of success are not measured by a spreadsheet or product success or, dare I say, OKRs.
Instead, I choose to focus on people first - both my loved ones and my work/client relationships.
I work as a product / leadership coach, and that work has been very rewarding.
But, I was inspired to think bigger.
So, I'm trying to find ways to reach not 10 companies where I might consult with over a year, or even 100 direct coaching clients. But can I 10x that? And 10x it again and again?
My goal became: Helping 100,000 leaders increase their impact while living the life they deserve.
Thinking this way has redefined my life, my passion, and how I spend my time.
It has also led me to structure my business differently. More on that below.
Have you had a similar "wake up call?"
And what came next?
(Email me: I'd love to hear about it.)
So, how has my work changed?
To reach more people, and reach my goal of helping 100,000 leaders, I had to switch HOW I work.
So, I went heads down to create a course about leadership.
I wanted it to be unlike standard leadership courses, with a dude in a suit, droning over powerpoint slides.
Instead, I wanted to invite you to my home office, and give you direct insights into the stories and lessons that shaped my career as I moved from a developer to a startup CEO to an executive after my company was acquired.
Rather than just listening, I wanted interactive workbooks and 5-minute exercises where you could immediately put the ideas into action.
And, unlike my standard executive coaching packages and consulting engagements, I wanted it at a cost low enough that individual leaders could buy it directly (or expense it through their company's training budget.)
So, I am happy to announce my first digital course, Leadership Advantage - Fundamentals.
What you'll learn:
πΉ Transform to a visionary leader in 3 weeks, with 9 lessons
πΉ Learn what it takes to lead great teams
πΉ Actionable activities to immediately put your learning into practice
I'm offering the course, now through December 15 at a low introductory price. The price will go up after December 15.
As always, thanks for allowing me in your inbox.
I'd love to hear about what leadership struggles you are facing, and how I might be able to help.
If you have any topics you would like me to cover in upcoming issues, please let me know!
See you next time!
Cheers,
Andrea
